In 2011, Marres Projects and NAiM/Bureau Europa received a commission by the advisory committee Area Development Maastricht Valkenburg. This advisory committee is looking for an innovative vision on the area surrounding the Plenkertstraat in Valkenburg, in which the cultural facilities in the area will become better connected to the restaurants and hotels, thus giving the area an extra impulse.
